Purple Limes and Blood Oranges Could Be Next for Florida Citrus

Researchers from the University of Florida have genetically engineered citrus to have higher levels of anthrocyanins. Anthocyanins are thought to be important in the prevention of cancer and studies have indicated their intake to the prevention human diseases such as diabetes and obesity.
